All the news I wish to print

There are all kinds of stories out there. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry. Some will make you shrug, some will make you scream. Read any daily paper or listen to any newscast and your emotions can go from happy to sad to disbelief to fear to incredulity to horror to anger in very short order.
As we go along, there will be stories, as Paul Harvey used to say, to "wash your ears out with." There will be others that will make you feel like you need to be deloused simply by virtue of having heard or read them. Some posts will be religious, some secular and for some I expect will defy easy classification in either category. I hope you will join me in this journey and please feel free to comment along the way.
For my part I pledge not to remove any posts unless they are vulgar, libelous, threatening or otherwise in violation of the standards of civil discussion. I will not remove any post simply because I disagree with it but I will reserve the right to respond to any challenges that come my way.
God bless you and welcome to my blog.

Never waste a crises.

Especially when it helps push your political agenda. Global warming may well be happening but if it is we can not stop it by taking the bus or turning off our air conditioners. We all need to stop wasting time flying from soap box to soap box on our private jets and deal with whatever climate change is coming down the pike. Of course it didn't take long for the environmental lobby to blame the recent hurricane on global warming. Watch the video to hear more.

Finally!

An affirmative action program I can benefit from!!!

Do you realize...

...that Honda stands to create more jobs with this one proposal than Obamas entire trillion dollar stimulus?

This must be some more of that post partisanship we were promised by President Obama

I guess jobs and people aren't fleeing the Golden State fast enough. Sacramento is looking to ban a perfectly recyclable product while, of course, exempting themselves and and making it more difficult for certain types of businesses such as fast food restaurants. They want them to use biodegradable products which, like so much proposed by environmentalists, is both more expensive and of poorer quality. What a deal, huh?

Twelve-Year-Old's Green Tea Stand Shut Down in Massachusetts

This is how the government encourages entrepreneurship. Now just be a good little drone and go apply for a government job. Those will be the only ones left soon anyway.

Here is a unique perspective on the hurricane

There is no sound but just expand it to full screen and imagine you are on the space station for a few moments and marvel at God's Creation.

Sure, Now they tell us.

Do you think maybe someone should have thought of this before he shot all those people in Tuscon?

Judge Rules Prison Doctors Can Forcibly Medicate Loughner

SAN DIEGO – A federal judge said Friday he will allow prison doctors to continue forcibly medicating the man accused in the deadly Arizona shooting rampage, to prevent the man from hurting himself.

U.S. District Judge Larry Burns ruled after hearing arguments on a request by Jared Lee Loughner's defense team to halt the pychotropic medications.

The judge rejected a similar request by Loughner's attorneys in late June. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeal halted the medication but later allowed it to resume after prison officials determined Loughner's outbursts there posed a danger.

Judicial Idiocy Watch

I don't get the reasoning on this at all. This "victim" broke into a legitimate business with the intent to steal. While it is true that the death penalty is not an appropriate punishment for burglary, getting shot during the commission of this felony is simply an occupational hazard. On a scale of 1-5, this jury gets 3 dunce caps. Remaining two go to what ever judge saw enough merit in this case to let it go to trial. While I feel badly for the little girl, the loss of her father was not because of a businessman defending his property but rather because her father made the decision to take things that do not belong to him. If he was not a criminal her father would not be dead today.

Wonder why members of Congress seem to be so clueless when it comes to the economy? Maybe there's a reason for that.

OK, this is sick even by today's standards:

After HHS Says Children are ‘Sexual Beings,’ Psychologists Push to Decriminalize Pedophilia

In a push that seeks to sexualize young children while condoning homosexual “experimentation” among teens, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is offering up pearls of wisdom to parents on the sexuality of children. But if that were not disturbing enough, this comes at a time when a group of psychologists are allegedly pushing for the decriminalization of pedophilia.

The HHS information, located on a “Questions and Answers About Sex” link on the “Quick Guide to Healthy Living” section of the government website even describes children and infants as “sexual beings.”

Cops Confiscate Cameras at Ohio Congressman’s Town Hall

You have to wonder sometimes if some of these clowns have ever even read the Constitution they've sworn to uphold. Even more outrageous than the original despicable act is the insulting and laughable assertion that this was being undertaken in order to protect the privacy of constituents. Read more here

This Pretty much sums up Obama's thought process

The environmental movement sounds like an idea that cannot be argued with. After all who could be against clean air and water, reduced reliance on fossil fuels and foreign energy and all that feel good Captain Planet stuff we are constantly told they care oh so much about. This cartoon from National Review Online pretty much sums up how these elitist hypocrites think. "Listen what I say but ignore what I do." Then he goes on vacation arriving in Martha's Vineyard three hours apart on his and her jets.
Three hours? Really? Michele couldn't wait three hours and save the taxpayers the expense-not to mention the ever increasing size of the carbon footprint of this first family-by traveling on the same plane as her husband? Yet we are expected to be patient after three and a half years while our economy unravels while this President blames everyone and everything, whines about criticism of any kind, Campaigns ceaselessly for re-election, plays golf and generally does not actually DO anything constructive.
Mr President, I would ask you to get back work, but then that would imply that you had actually done any work to begin with. Such is not the case. Instead you have chosen, just as you did in your brief legislative career, to vote "present" while others do the heavy lifting, while you sit back, light up another Marlboro, and do your level best to live up to the phrase, Those who can, do and those who can't, criticize.

Can Orwellian view screens be far behind? "Cameras, cameras everywhere" seems to be the mantra of Nanny Bloomberg. Already in lower Manhattan there is no where you can go in public space without being on someone's security camera. We seem to be giving up more and more of our freedom and privacy to the all encompassing goal of safety. If we surrender enough of the former the latter will be meaningless. A cage, no matter how beautifully disguised, is still a cage. Read on:

"A federal stimulus grant of nearly $500,000 to grow trees and stimulate the economy in Nevada yielded a whopping 1.72 jobs, according to government statistics."

Ya gotta love government statistics. Laying aside for a brief moment the rather glaring fact that these jobs each cost more than 10 years of unemployment benefits, can some one please explain exactly what 72/100 of a job is? This is not presented as an average but rather as a total number of jobs. You really got to read this to believe it.

S&P Cuts Venezuela's Credit Rating; Outlook Stable

Reducing the US credit is one thing but now S&P is going after an Obama BFF. It will be interesting to see if we get another tantrum from the White House.
